LOCAL: Deaf Smith County Judge D.j. Wagner appointed four new members to fill expired terms on the Deaf Smith Fresh Water Supply District 1 Board at Tuesday’s commission meeting. Anacleto Enriquez, Moses Arredondo, Alicia Mendoza Rocha and Daniel Lemus all took the Oath of Office and will sit in their first Board meeting tomorrow evening. The Board will meet at 7:00 at the offices in San Jose for an 11-item agenda, including discussion of suspended office employee Mona Hernandez. Mona was suspended Tuesday afternoon without pay pending a records audit……Funeral services for John Robinson, age 91, are this morning at 11:00 at the Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Robinson was a U.S. Army Veteran and longtime Hereford resident. A visitation will be held prior to the services from 9:00-11:00 this morning……Funeral services for Jennifer Mullins, age 52, are tomorrow at 2:00 at Westway Baptist Church. Jennifer was a Hereford resident for the last 14 years and worked at Whiteface Cleaners before being diagnosed with cancer in 2020. Visitation is today from 6:00-8:00 at Parkside Chapel Funeral Home. She died on Monday……The Deaf Smith County Chamber’s Lady’s Night is taking place tomorrow from 5:00-8:00 at the Hereford Country Club. Let’s Do More in 2024 is the theme and the free event will allow women to interact with a host of businesses and organizations that provide a variety of services to women. Light refreshments will be served.
