LOCAL: Winter weather is set to impact the region Thursday through 

Saturday morning. A cold front will move across the area Thursday 

ushering in moisture from the Rockies. Wintry mix and snow will be the 

main forms of precip, with snow favored in the Western Panhandle……Texas 

DPS is reminding travelers on the road to drive safe during the 

Thanksgiving Holiday with additional cruisers on Texas roadways, 

Wednesday-Sunday. The majority of the 36,523 citations and warnings that 

were issued during the 2021 Thanksgiving campaign were for speeding. The 

DPS’ Texas Roadside Assistance program is good for any type of 

assistance at 1-800-252-5555…… Today is the final day that the Christmas 

Stocking Fund is accepting applications. Panhandle Community Services at 

1011 East Park Avenue has applications on site, and will accept 

completed forms. Applicants must provide proof of residency in Deaf 

Smith County with a utility bill. The CSF assists with medical and 

utility bills, along with clothing and food vouchers. The fundraising
