WEATHER: (September 26, 2022) MONDAY – High yesterday afternoon was 86° 

at 4:00; this morning’s low was 51° at 8:00. KPANcast: Clear with a high

LOCAL: Homecoming Week kicks off today with the Homecoming Parade. The 

parade will run the normal route from HHS to downtown beginning at 6:00 

this evening. Sausage wraps on the courthouse square will follow. The 

pep-rally is set for Thursday at approximately 7:30 at Whiteface Field. 

The Herd will host West Plains on Friday night at 7:00……The #5 Lady 

Whitefaces swept the #3 West Plains Lady Wolves Saturday in district 

volleyball. Nickilah Whatley recorded 15 digs, 9 kills and 3 blocks. 

Kyndal Blair had 13 digs and 7 kills. London Baker added 27 assists for 

the Lady Whitefaces. They face the Lady Raiders of Randall in Amarillo 

Tuesday night. The winner will take the outright lead in district……No 

services have been scheduled for Miguel Garcia, age 61, a longtime area 

resident. Miguel was a handyman and interior construction worker. He 

died on Friday in Hereford……The Dallas Cowboys are in the Meadowlands 

tonight facing a division rival in the NY Giants. KPAN AM-FM will have 

live coverage with pre-game beginning at 6:15……The Hereford Food Pantry 

is open for their regular schedule today from 12:00-3:00, at 900 North 

Lee……Texas Tech beat then ranked #22 Texas Longhorns in overtime 

Saturday, 37-34……KPAN salutes Cheryl and Chris Meiwes as the Good
