LOCAL: The Texas Department of State Health Services has reported an additional fatality attributed to COVID-19 in Deaf Smith County yesterday, increasing the death toll to 88. The Trauma Service Area A COVID-19 hospitalization rate continues to be the highest in the state with 21.8% of staffed beds occupied with lab-confirmed COVID-19 patients……Terroristic Threat charges have been dropped against a 17 year-old HHS student who was arrested and jailed after taking a soft water-bead gun to school on December 2nd……Funeral services for Sara Huerta, age 59, are today at 2:00 at Parkside Chapel Funeral Home…… Funeral services for Domingo “Jay” Vasquez, Jr., age 44, are tomorrow at 10:00 at Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home. Domingo was a longtime Hereford resident and 1996 HHS Graduate. Visitation will be today from 1:00-8:00 at the funeral home……Funeral services for Gervacia Gaitan, age 81, will be tomorrow at 11:00 at San Jose Catholic Church. Visitation is being held today at 2:00 with a Rosary at 6:00 at Parkside Chapel.
