LOCAL: The Lady Whitefaces fell to Decatur in four sets last night at the Regional Tournament in volleyball. The defending state champs beat the Herd 25-16, 17-25, 25-22 and 25-16. The Lady Whitefaces finish the season with a stellar 45-3 record……The Hereford Whitefaces lost to the Lake Worth Bullfrogs in a first round playoff game last night in Vernon. The Whitefaces went down by 17 points in the 1st, but would rally and make it a one score game a couple of times with the Bullfrogs. The Whitefaces finish the season with a 6-5 record……The 31st Annual Festival of Trees begins today and will run through Friday. The holiday tradition kicks off at 9:00 each day and admission is free……Funeral services for Waldo Baxter, age 84, are Monday at 2:30 at Fellowship of Believers Church. A viewing is being held today from 2:00-8:00 at Parkside Chapel Funeral Directors, and a visitation is tomorrow from 4:00-6:00. Waldo was a longtime Hereford resident and worked at Hereford State Bank for many years. He died Wednesday……Funeral services for Alice Koenig, age 93, are Tuesday morning at 10:00 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. A viewing will be Monday from 3:00-6:00 at Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home. Mrs. Koenig died Wednesday……Texas Tech hosts the Iowa State Cyclones in Big XII football action today.
