LOCAL: Today marks the 102nd Annual Veterans Day celebrations across the country. The day was originally commemorated as Armistice Day a year after the end of WWI. The Hereford Senior Center is hosting a Veterans Day lunch from 11:00-1:00, and Veterans can eat free. The Veterans Day Parade will begin at 5:00 this afternoon and travel the normal parade route……HHS senior Taytum Stow signed her letter of intent to play volleyball for West Texas A&M University yesterday. The middle blocker has been named to the Texas Girls Coaches Association All-State Team twice……The Mighty Maroon Band finished their competitive marching season yesterday just outside the finals. The band finished as one of the top 26 bands in 4-A in the state of Texas…… Funeral services are pending at Parkside Chapel for Alan Newman……Funeral services are pending at Parkside Chapel for Waldo Baxter……The HISD Board of Trustees will meet tomorrow morning for a 5-item agenda. They’ll set guaranteed maximum prices for renovations and additions to Bluebonnet and Aikman Elementary that was approved in the 2018 Bond. They’ll also hear bids for the new artificial turf field that will be installed at Whiteface Stadium this off-season.
