WEATHER: (May 31, 2021) MEMORIAL DAY – High yesterday was 78° at 3:00; this morning’s low was 56° at 7:00. KPANcast: Cloudy and cool with a chance of showers and thunderstorms.  

LOCAL: Severe weather ripped through the Panhandles over the weekend with multiple tornados in the northern Texas Panhandle and Oklahoma Panhandle. The Hereford area only received trace amounts of precipitation after storms overnight Thursday and Friday morning produced .24 inch of rain. Our rain chances continue today and tonight……The Hereford VFW is holding a flag lowering ceremony at 6:00 this evening. Local first responders and the Hereford High MCJROTC will be at the ceremony. The public is invited and food and beverages will be provided……Funeral services are pending at Parkside Chapel for Karl King, age 61, a Hereford resident who died Saturday……Funeral services for Eva Cuellar, age 74, are pending at Parkside Chapel. Eva died yesterday……The Hereford Food Pantry is closed today in observance of Memorial Day, but will be back open for their regular schedule on Friday……Lady Whiteface Softball Camp begins tomorrow at 9:00 at the Caviness SportsPlex. Incoming 3rd – 9th graders are eligible to attend the camp and registration will be on-site prior to the camp and is $30.
