LOCAL: A Pacific cold front produced much needed moisture across the area yesterday. Showers and thunderstorms made their way across the Texas Panhandle yesterday evening after a cool and cloudy day. KPAN recorded .33 inch of rain at the downtown studios from showers yesterday evening……Signup for Region 16’s Head Start and Early Head Start programs is today at the HISD Admin building from 10:00-6:00. Call the office at 363-7680 for more information……Funeral services for Pauline Maldonado, age 97, are Thursday at 2:00 at La Iglesia de San Jose. She worked as a LVN at King’s Manor Nursing Home. Pauline died Saturday, May 1st. A prayer vigil will be this afternoon at 6:00, and a wake will be held tomorrow at 6:00 at Parkside Chapel Funeral Directors……Funeral services for Guadalupe Salazar, age 74, will be Friday at 10:00 at San Jose Catholic Church. A viewing will be Thursday from 3:00-8:00 at Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home. Guadalupe died Friday in Hereford……Nicolas Valdez came in 3rd overall in the welding division at the Top of Texas CTE competition. He also placed 1st in advanced mig welding and his project won gold.
