LOCAL: The Hereford Lady Whitefaces continue playoff action today in Big Spring at 1:00. They are 0-1 in the best of three series and will need a win to keep playing. KPAN AM-FM will have live coverage from Big Spring this afternoon around 12:50……Hereford High CTE students and teams competed in the Top of Texas CTE contest this week in Canyon. Nicole Talamantes won Best in Class with her jewelry box in the Engineering Design and Presentation contest. The Hot Rodders of Tomorrow won 1st place with an engine build time of 18:34. The Robotics team won their scrimmage against Canyon, and the Woodworking team had multiple podium finishes……Signup for the Region 16 Head Start and Early Head Start programs is Tuesday, May 4th from 10:-6:00 at the HISD Admin building. Call 363-7680 for more information on the programs……The Deaf Smith County Industry Tour is May 4th. The event presented by the Chandler Insurance Agency is a chance to showcase agriculture in Deaf Smith County. It will kick off at 9:30 on Tuesday morning at Mc6 Cattle Feeders……A Burn Ban remains in effect for Deaf Smith County. After a very dry April another chance for precipitation is coming up on Monday. Most of the western and southern portions of the Texas Panhandle are in drought conditions. Portions of Deaf Smith County remain in D4 drought, the most severe classification.
