LOCAL: Texas has now reported over 50,000 COVID-19 deaths during the pandemic since counting began last March. The official toll was 50,037 as of Wednesday. The rolling two-week average continues to decline in the state with a 480-case decrease in the average number of daily cases, or 13%……Light showers dropped trace amounts of moisture yesterday afternoon in Hereford. KPAN had no measurable amounts of precipitation at the downtown studio……Funeral services for J. Pedro Segovia, age 76, are this afternoon at 4:00 at Primera Iglesia Bautista Nueva Vida. J. Pedro worked at Lonestar Calf Ranch for 10 years. He died Monday in Hereford……The Lady Whiteface softball team is in playoff action today at 4:30 at Lady Whiteface Field. KPAN AM-FM will have live coverage……Ticket sales end tomorrow at noon for the 2nd Annual Hereford Senior Citizens Association’s Kentucky Derby Gala. The gala is Saturday at the senior center from 5:30-11:00 PM……A benefit carwash for Gilbert Castillo will be Saturday at 10:00 at Rent-A-Center. Donations will be accepted for Gilbert who is battling an illness……KPAN salutes Daphne Mariscal as the Good Neighbor of the Day……We have roots where others have branches – First National Bank.
