LOCAL: The mixed doubles tennis team of Nicolas Villalovos and K’Linda Mason won the 4-A State Championship yesterday, beating Wills Point in two sets, 6-3 & 6-4. No strangers to the state tourney, Nicolas was the reigning champ in mixed doubles, and K’Linda was a state quarterfinalist in singles last year……Eleven pounds of methamphetamine and 100 grams of fentanyl was seized in a traffic stop near Vega on Sunday. A 27 year-old from Louisville, KY, was transporting the drugs from Yuma, AZ, to Louisville. Chelsea Ward was booked into the Randall County Jail on felony possession charges……Funeral services for Beckie Fry, age 65, are tomorrow morning at 10:30 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. Beckie was a longtime Hereford resident. She died last Friday……Great Plains CASA is holding their annual cheeseburger lunch tomorrow. Plates are $7 and service begins at 11:00 at the office at 313 N. Lee Ave……The 2022 Southern Plains Conference focusing on regional education will take place from 8:30-6:00 tomorrow at the Panhandle Plains Historical Museum.
