LOCAL: HISD Board of Trustees will meet today at 6:00 at the Administration Building to work through a 9-item agenda. The Board has a lengthy Action Agenda to discuss and take action on. That includes the proposed compensation plan for HISD staff for the 2021/2022 school year. They’ll also discuss calling public hearings for the 2021/2022 budget and proposed tax rate for HISD and proposed tax rate for Amarillo College’s Hereford branch……Deaf Smith County Commissioners meet tomorrow at 9:00 at the courthouse to discuss an 11-item agenda including a request for the Deaf Smith County Fresh Water District’s Board Minutes for the past 10 years……A funeral service for Ben Plummer, age 93, will be Saturday at 10:30 at First Baptist Church. Ben was a lifelong Hereford resident and worked at Oglesby Equipment. He was a veteran and served in the Korean War. A viewing will be held Friday from 5:00-7:00 at Parkside Chapel Funeral Directors. Mr. Plummer died July 19th……The Texas Department of State Health Services has reported approximately 22,500 new COVID-19 cases across the state since July 21st.
