WEATHER: (July 14, 2021) WEDNESDAY- High yesterday was 89° at 5:00; this morning’s low was 66° at 7:00. KPANcast: Mostly sunny, hot and breezy.  

LOCAL: The Amarillo area has reported a COVID-19 test positivity rate of 3% over the past seven days. They also reported 50 new cases from Monday and Tuesday along with at least 19 new cases per day in the last five days……West Texas A&M running back Brandon Blair has been named a College Sports Information Directors of America First Team Academic All-American. Brandon has maintained a 4.0 GPA during his four seasons of play. He rushed for 745 yards and 10 touchdowns on 139 carries……Parker Hanna was also named to Dave Campbell’s Texas Football Preseason All-Texas Small College team. Parker started at left tackle for the Buffs last fall……Hereford Health Clinic is sponsoring free athletic physicals for UIL athletes and band members in HISD today. The event is available for 7th-12th graders. Physicals are required by the UIL for 7th, 9th and 11th grade students and strongly recommended for all other students in the age group……Funeral services for Jesse Zepeda, Sr., age 72, are tomorrow at 2:00 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. A viewing will be from 4:00-8:00 today at Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home with a rosary beginning at 6:00. Jesse was a long-time Hereford resident and electrician and cattle rancher.
